Western Canadian Team Championships
2020
The 2020 WCTC will be held April 24 - 26th in Winnipeg at Prairie Badminton.
The tryouts will be Manitoba Junior Provincials held March 19 - 22nd at Prairie Badminton. The team selection criteria can be found HERE
2017
The Western Canadian Team Championships is one of the few completely TEAM based badminton competitions in Canada. The tournament is typically conducted through team work between Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia, however, entry into the competition is still possible from Nunavut, Yukon and Northwest Territories and USA. Each of the provinces rotate who hosts the tournament with the host Province being elgible to enter TWO teams. The 2017 Western Canadian Team Championships will be held in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The teams compete in the categories of U15, U17 and U19 with each team tie including 1 Boys Singles, 1 Girls Singles, 1 Boys Doubles, 1 Girls Doubles and 1 Mixed Doubles. To increase the importance of this competition even more each age category winner will win a cup. The cup names are Clarkson Cup, Paulson Cup and the newly created Dawson Cup, named after Manitoba badminton great Jamie Dawson.

2018
This year the competition will be at a new time in the tournament calendar. The competition has been moved to April 20th to 22nd and will take place at the Calgary Winter Club in Alberta. The goal with this new time is to make it easier for athletes to compete without the added stress of exams and national competitions that occur in January.

The registration fee to be named to the Western Canadian Team Championships team will be $600 for team members and $75 for alternates.
The fee will include:
- Travel to Calgary, Alberta from Winnipeg by chartered bus
- Accommodations in Calgary
- A team clothing item
- Participation in the High Performance Camp March 23-25 in Winnipeg
- Coaching during competition

The Western Canadian Team Championship will be held in Richmond BC April 26 - 28, 2019.
2019 Yonex Junior Provincial Championships will be used as the tryouts for the teams.
