The tryouts will take place over 2 days at Prairie Badminton (275 De Baets)
Please view the specific information on the selection process at the document above.

** Please note that there is an exemption procedure for Extenuating Circumstances.
All of these will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Please review the Team Selection document for eligibility requirements.
** Attendance at the Phase I Tryouts is not required to attend the Phase II Tryouts.

Protecting Youth In Sports Act

Safe Sport Policy Manual

APRIL 1st UPDATE

The Government of Manitoba’s Protecting Youth in Sports Act is now officially enacted.

As a result, all Provincial Sport Organizations (PSOs) are now mandated to adopt Sport Manitoba’s Safe Sport Policy Manual.
In compliance with the Act, our organization has formally adopted the following Sport Manitoba safe sport policies:


1) Code of Conduct and Ethics Policy
2) Discipline and Complaints Policy
3) Alternate Dispute Resolution Policy
4) Appeal Policy
5) Respect in Sport Policy 
6) Coach Screening Policy Minimum Requirements

 

The MBA Board voted to adopt the new policy manual on March 23, 2026

Our year end tournament took place at C1/DK the weekend of April 17-19.

Our top juniors left their mark playing against the best players and veterans of our community.

The weekend also included the players award banque on Saturday.

Canada Winter Games U23 - ID Camp & Mental Training

Badminton Manitoba will be hosting an Identification (ID) Camp in preparation for the Canada Winter Games final tryouts in August.
This camp will include both a mental performance session and on-court training.

Date: May 9
Time: 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Location: Winnipeg Winter Club
Cost: $40 (GST included)
Capacity: 20 athletes

2026 Yonex Junior Provincials Results

The tournament to crown champions in five junior age categories took place this past weekend.

2027 Canada Winter Games Team Manager Recruitment

 

Team Manager Needed

The role of the Manager is crucial to the overall success of the badminton program for the Canada Winter Games.  The manager will have the responsibility of taking care of administrative duties, internal and external communication and general organizational matters for the team.  This would include but is not limited to; A) Creating and distributing a player and coach contact list for all team members and staff, B) Facility booking, C) Uniform collecting and distributing, D) Coach, parent and athlete communication (overall), and E) Team
notifications and organization; prior to and within the games experience.

Team Manager Requirements

  • Born 2007 or earlier
  • Must have badminton playing and/or coaching experience
  • Previous Multi-Sport Games (MB Games, WCSG, CWG) experience is an asset
  • Experience in a leadership role is an asset
  • All Coaches and Managers must be licensed with a “National Coach” license as issued by Badminton Canada.
  • The Manager must have current Respect in Sport Certification.
  • Completed Criminal Record Check
  • Completed Understanding the Rule of Two eLearning Module

Managers will not be granted access to the field of play during competition. 

If a team sends athletes who are women, one staff member must be a woman. If a team sends athletes who are men, one staff member must be a man.
