Give Back to the Manitoba Badminton Community

The events and programs that Manitoba Badminton Association hosts would not be possible without the help of our many volunteers. The Manitoba Badminton community is a tight-knit group of people, many whom give back to their community, for which we are eternally grateful.

If you are considering doing the same, here are some great volunteering opportunities:

Coaching

There are many coaching opportunities in Manitoba, including Developmental Winter Programs, Manitoba Winter Games, and not to mention school badminton teams. Please click here for the coaching pathway.

Officiating

Officiating is a great way to be involved in higher level badminton play as there are opportunities to officiate at a national, panamerican and international stage. There are a two different officiating opportunities:

Umpires are essentially scorekeepers and rule enforcers that oversee badminton matches.

Referees oversee the entire tournament and ensure that it runs smoothly, they are also in charge of the umpires.

Please click here for the officiating pathway.

Games

Manitoba Winter Games occurs every four years and always needs volunteers. There are also badminton coaching opportunities for the Manitoba Winter Games. Visit their website for more information.

Canada Winter Games also needs volunteers and runs every four years. A Manitoba badminton team manager is chosen to accompany the team as well. Visit their website for more information.

General/Other

These can include helping run a draw desk during a tournament, helping drive athletes to and from venues (when national events take place in Manitoba) and more. Please contact MBA at [email protected] to see how you can help out!
