Division 2: Round Robin + Playoff

*Numbers permitting, entries will be sorted into two divisions as per the 2022-2023 Competitive Circuit guidelines.

Participants may add a note indicating their level of play (A, B, C, D) and in which Division they feel they fit. Ultimately, the sorting of athletes into divisions (when applicable) will be dependent on results of the Division-split process, but input from athletes can help inform seeding commitee ranking (especially in the case of athletes who are new to Manitoba events).

1 Event: $60
2 Events: $70
3 Events: $75
entry fees payable on-line at the registration
includes: minimum 3 games, Yonex feather shuttles, tournament t-shirt*, referees & umpires

**Tournament t-shirt orders will be taken during online registration. Late entries may not receive t-shirts.

Manual-entry registrations are subject to a $10 administration fee. 
Late registrations (if accepted) are subject to both a $10 late fee & $10 manual-entry fee, and individuals may not be included in seeding.

The competition will be conducted under the official rules of Badminton Canada.

Thursday: Singles events (if needed)
Friday: Singles events
Saturday: Singles (if needed), followed by Doubles, followed by Mixed Doubles
Saturday evening: All semi-final matches
Sunday: All final matches

PANDEMIC PROTOCOLS
All athlete-participants, coaches, and officials may participate in or attend this event.
The tournament will be run according to the MBA's most recent Return-to-Play Guidelines.
Any individuals displaying symptoms or having been exposed to COVID symptoms prior to or during the event will be expected to withdraw (please note the new MBA COVID-19 Program Refund Policy). The tournament referee or tournament host reserves the right to remove a participant from the draw and ask them to leave if they if they are exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms. The tournament referee or host reserves the right to ask an individual to leave if they are exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms.
MBA or the tournament host reserve the right to limit spectator capacity.
The tournament referee or tournament host reserves the right to remove athletes or individuals for non-compliance. Failure to comply with tournament protocols could affect a member's standing.

 

FINE PRINT

Refund Policy
The Manitoba Badminton Association does not permit refunds of MBA Memberships.
The MBA does not permit refunds of tournament registration fees unless requests are accompanied by a medical note or immediate family crisis. This does not apply to partial fee refunds if an athlete paid for 2-3 categories and was unable to secure a partner (thus only competing in 1 event).
MBA COVID-19 Program Refund Policy: If a participant-athlete develops symptoms of COVID-19 or is exposed to COVID-19 before or during the event, a 100% or partial refund (if the exposure takes place between events) will be granted. No medical note will be required.

Availability 
Players must make themselves available for the entirety of the event, and personal situations will not be taken into consideration for timing purposes.
Due to the speed of play being unpredictable, participants are asked to be ready well ahead of their posted schedule. It is ultimately the player's responsibility to be present for the start of their match.
The tournament will enforce a strict 10-minute disqualification rule and 2-minute warm-up rule.

Clothing & Equipment
Participants must have an indoor change of clothing and non-marking athletic shoes
Participants must bring their own racquets
