The MBA is pleased to be hosting the 2026 Yonex Herb Richard Open.

Venue: C1/DK Badminton (101 Hamelin St #2)
Format: Guaranteed 3 Matches (ABCD OR Round Robin).
Finals Played on Sunday.
Event played under the new BWF scoring format (3×15)
Fees and Registration
- 1 Event: $55 + GST = $57.75
- 2+ Events: $70 + GST = $73.50
Includes: Shuttles (Feather AS30), Souvenir, Referees & Umpires, & Prizes
Registration Deadline: Thursday Nov 26th @ 11:59pm
Early Bird Registration: Register by November 23rd, 11:59pm to receive an extra entry for a door prize (Yonex Backback)
Manual Entry Fee = $10 + GST = $10.50
Late Entry Fee = $10 + GST = $10.50

Eligibility
Participants must have an active current 2026-2027 season Provincial, or National membership.
The competition will be conducted under the official rules of Badminton Canada.
Times
- Friday: 5pm Start Singles
- Doubles follows singles, Mixed Doubles follows Doubles
- Sunday 9am Start
Clothing and Equipment
Participants must have an indoor change of clothing and non-marking athletic shoes.
Participants must bring their own racquets.
Stringing service will be available.
Availability
Players must make themselves available for the entirety of the event. Due to the unpredictability of speed of play, athletes are expected to be ready well ahead of their scheduled match time.
The tournament will enforce a 10-minute disqualification rule and a 2-minute warm-up rule.
Reasonable requests for late starts or timing accommodations are not guaranteed to be accepted and will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Coaching
For field-of-play access, coaches must hold a valid (confirmed or pending) 2026-2027 MBA Coaching License. They also must have an active Respect In Sport certification.
Only one coach will be allowed to be present behind the court during any match.
Refund Policy
Badminton Manitoba does not permit refunds of MBA Memberships.
Badminton Manitoba does not permit refunds of tournament registration fees unless requests are accompanied by a medical note or immediate family crisis. This does not apply to partial fee refunds if an athlete paid for 2-3 categories and was unable to secure a partner (thus only competing in 1 event).
NOTE: Any unpaid registrations will be removed prior to the creation of the draws.
