Team Manitoba

Team Manitoba, formerly known as the High Performance program, was launched in summer 2020. This new name better reflects the collaborative and unifying nature of the program and its attempt to enable Manitoba players to excel on the national stage. The team is comprised of Manitoba’s top provincially- and nationally-competitive athletes. These athletes are dedicated to their badminton training both on and off the court.

The Manitoba Badminton Team Manitoba Program is designed to provide our athletes with opportunities to receive the training, support and experiences they need to excel in national and international competitions.  The intent of this program is to support our nationally-competitive athletes to continue their competitive aspirations and represent Manitoba in inter-provincial competitions as well as help the rest of the team in their development.  Athletes in Team Manitoba are expected to be positive role models within the badminton community and represent the Manitoba Badminton Association to the best of their abilities at events throughout Canada.

Team Manitoba is an extension of a player’s club program.  Players involved in the program are expected to continue to play and train in their club environment.

The goal of the Team Manitoba is to continually improve the quality of the participants’ experience and improve the results of our athletes and teams at the National Championships, Canada Winter Games, and international competition.
