The Whitemouth Warriors Badminton Club plays three times a week with coach Michael Carter. Practices are scheduled for Monday 7:30-8:30 am; Wednesday 7:30-8:30, 3:30-5:00 pm; Friday 12:00-1:00 pm. Michael Carter also offers lessons for a wide variety of ages and skill levels.

 

Mike Carter, a fully certified level 2 coach with the Badminton Manitoba, is the Head Coach of The Whitemouth Badminton Club.  Mike won Badminton Manitoba's Coaching Achievement Award in 2011 after about 6 years of service to his community developing a badminton club and encouraging and taking his athletes to local and provincial badminton tournaments.  He has been the Head Coach for Team Eastman for the past 2 Power Smart Manitoba Winter Games (2010 & 2014) and has produced some of Manitoba's top young badminton players who will be moving on to compete at even higher levels soon!

 

Mike is also the co-chair of the Eastman Open Badminton Tournament, the very first tournament to be created for Badminton Manitoba's "Rural Super Series".  The Rural Super Series Tournaments are sanctioned tournaments by Badminton Manitoba that provide a quality tournament experience outside of Winnipeg so that Rural Manitoba can develop their programs and athletes to a high level without having to do too much travel.  The Eastman Open is held in Steinbach MB and last year had over 100 participants.  These tournaments count for MBA player rankings and are complete with trophies, medals, prizes, referees and umpires.
