Schedule:
April 26 – 6pm Singles Begins (WWC)
April 27 – 9am Singles Continues (CLR); Doubles & Mixed to follow Singles (CLR)
April 28 – 9am Event Semi-Finals, 11am Event Finals (MS/WS/MD/WD/XD)
Cost: $25.00/person
Events: Boys Singles, Girls Singles, Boys Doubles, Girls Doubles, Mixed Doubles
Age Restriction: Born 1995 or later
Includes: Mavis 350 Shuttles, Saturday Evening Banquet, Officials & Prize Raffles
Registration Deadline: Thursday April 18, 2013 @ 11:59pm (midnight)
• All participants must be accompanied by their school badminton coach(s) through the entirety of the tournament
• All participants must be prepared to play at all times during their schedule event(s) – athletes shall not leave the premises while their respective event is in progress.
• All semi-final and final matches are to be umpired.
• Players whom forfeit a match are automatically removed from the tournament draw.
• All players are guaranteed 3 matches in the event that they enter.
• Players are allowed to enter a maximum of 3 events, and a minimum of 1 event.
• Each event entry costs $20.00.
• Each match is best-of-3 up to 21 points each game. The matches will follow all BWF laws of badminton (www.bwfbadminton.org – click here for simple rules).
• Coaching is allowed between games (during the 2 minute interval) and between matches.
o Coaching is not allowed during the 11 point interval
o Coaching is not allowed between points
Draw Size:
Boy’s Singles – 20, Girl’s Singles – 20, Boy’s Doubles – 20, Girl’s Doubles – 20, Mixed Doubles - 20
Other Information:
Shuttles: Mavis 350 Shuttles will be used
Please bring your own racquet, change of clothing and non-marking indoor athletic shoes. Shuttles are Provided
Refund Policy: Badminton Manitoba does not permit refunds of MBA Memberships or Tournament Registration Fees
Availability: Participants must be available to play during the entirety of the events that they are registered for. MBA will not accept special requests for time, for any reason. All participants must be prepared to play during finals on Sunday
Due to speed of play being unpredictable, participants are asked to be ready a minimum of 30 minutes prior to their posted match. The draw desk volunteers will do their best to announce what speed the tournament is running at but cannot be held responsible for the participants punctuality
The Tournament will enforce a strict 10 minute disqualification rule and 3-minute warm-up rule
Clothing: Participants must have a change of clothing and non-marking indoor athletic shoes
Equipment: Participants must bring their own racquets
