Marj Niemi brings a whole host of skills related to the job, most notable of them all being her passion for badminton which she acquired in her 40's. Since then Marj has become the President of the Lac du Bonnet Badminton Club, a Provincially Certified Coach, Nationally Certified Umpire, and she has experience running the Eastman Open, Interlake Open, and the MB Seniors & Masters. She was the Officials liaison for the 2017 Cdn Masters Championships in Winnipeg, a coach for the 2010 and 2014 Manitoba Winter Games for Team Eastman, and she is going to be the head referee for the 2018 Manitoba Winter Games in Thompson.
Marj is one of 4 referees in Manitoba capable of creating and timing draws (beginning to end) using Tournament Software.
Beyond all of this, Marj is an absolute pleasant to be around, and a hard worker, and for those reason we are excited to start working with her to help our members with all their technical needs.
